Following her first piece of choreography for the stage, which received the Belgian SACD prize in 1996, she rapidly left the usual areas of creation in favour of more immediately urban territories of investigation. The space and time chosen for the performance are often transitory places and times; the spectator is physically engaged in a situation, the work becoming simultaneously an object and a path. At the same time, she organised the Où Nul Théâtre-Théâtre with Sofie Kokaj, a semi-clandestine structure of artistic events that came under the pseudonyms of Tant de Roses and Transport Public. They present their theatrical work on paper and through minimal publications, posters and performances in public and private contexts (Brussels,1996-1999). The aim of Manzetti’s research and numerous collaborations is the construction of a suggestive or resonant space. Performance objects are often ephemeral and changeable, seeking to push the limits of representation, sometimes to an embarrassing degree. This is because of the proximity always sought, with the spectator, through physical or behavioural intimacy or by the reversibility of the “role” chosen by the performer (author, actor, dictator, spectator). A confusion is created, between public and private space, by the constant attempt to escape from existing pigeonholes by proposing new ones which are themselves ephemeral and unpredictable. She has latterly participated in projects by Jennifer Lacy and Nadia Lauro, Nasser Martin Gousset, Dora Garcia and Dominique Thirion. She is an associate artist of the Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers in 2006.

« My contemporaries and my body from 8:30 pm “Mes Contemporains is a linking of fictional autobiographical objects produced in the last three years between Brussels and Aubervilliers. It is a conscious and unconscious project for which I have enlisted many people from my family, romantic, professional and geographical circles. If my work has always been closer to others’ bodies than my own, it is because others have always moved me better than my own muscles could. The work which I am presenting alone is a collective work of our intimacy, a daily invention of the world and normality. And this normality is something perfect for me.”
